Maylands Yacht Club is being recognised for its outstanding commitment to growing sailing participation and community engagement, achieving remarkable membership growth of 24% while creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that makes sailing accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels.

Through innovative initiatives including becoming a Discover Sailing Centre, developing Australia’s largest Mirror fleet, expanding opportunities for women and youth, providing club-owned boats to remove barriers to participation, and fostering a vibrant volunteer culture, Maylands Yacht Club has demonstrated how a community-focused approach can successfully grow and strengthen the sport of sailing.
