📩 Info and waitlist: training@maylandsyachtclub.org.au
Schedule: choice from 5 to 9 sessions, Sundays 12:30pm – 15:30pm
Boat class: Mirror & Laser/ILCA
Course Description:
This course is designed for sailors who have completed Start Sailing 1 & 2 or have equivalent basic experience. It is not an entry-level course. A minimum of 5 sessions is required to achieve the Better Sailing certification. We recommend attending as many sessions as you can, up to 9 available each term.
Training will be conducted in Mirror dinghies and Laser/ILCAs, giving participants the chance to try each and choose their preferred class. The course focuses on consolidating core skills and developing the ability to sail independently in a range of conditions.
Buoyancy vests are provided, but participants should be confident in the water.
Coaching and progression
-
Each sailor is supported by a qualified Foundation Coach who tracks their progress, sets appropriate session goals, and helps manage transitions between Better Sailing, Green Fleet, and Intermediate Fleet.
-
Please make sure you communicate regularly with your coach about goals, concerns, and availability so we can provide the best possible learning experience.
