Course Fees (all inclusive):

• MYC Full & Junior Members: $120
• New Participants (includes complimentary Sail Training Membership, please sign on for this first when enrolling in the course):
  • Adult: $350
  • Junior (<19): $200

Flexible Dates:
Participants are entitled to 9 sailing sessions chosen across the season, allowing for a flexible and personalised learning schedule. Session bookings must generally be made at least 2 weeks in advance and are subject to the availability of club boats and instructors. 

The season offers over 30 training days, following this schedule:
Sundays 9:00 am to 12:00pm
Wednesdays 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Sunday sessions are generally recommended for complete beginners, while Wednesday sessions may be suitable as participants progress. Additional days may be added based on demand and instructor availability.

Course Description:
This nine-day sailing course is designed for adults and children who want to learn to sail or further develop their sailing skills. It is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have completed basic training.

Sailing Mirror or Laser dinghies, participants will progress beyond the basics and, when ready, take on more advanced skills such as gybing, sailing a triangular course, and learning the rules of sailing. Buoyancy vests are provided, though sailors should be confident in the water.

Minimum Age: 10 years.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate.
