Course Fees (all inclusive):

  • MYC Full & Junior Members: $70
  • New Participants: (includes complimentary Sail Training Membership, please sign on for this first when enrolling in the course):
    • Adult: $200
    • Junior (<19): $120

Course Description:
This five-session course is designed for sailors who have completed Start Sailing 1 & 2 or have equivalent basic experience. It is not an entry-level course.

Training will be conducted in both Mirror dinghies and Laser/ILCAs, giving participants the chance to try each and choose their preferred class. The course focuses on consolidating core skills and developing the ability to sail independently in a range of conditions.

Buoyancy vests are provided, but participants should be confident in the water.


Course Overview

This course focuses on sailing in stronger winds and introducing extra equipment like spinnaker and trapeze to leverage the full boat potential on the water.

Course Prerequisites

Water confident, and you should have the skills, knowledge and experience gained from the Start Sailing 2 course.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to continue developing their sailing skills in dinghies. 

Course Outcome

You will gain your Better Sailing completion certificate.
