Learn to Sail - LASER Start Sailing
Discover the fun of sailing and build confidence on a Laser dinghy

Group size: 3–6 participants
Schedule: 9 sessions, Sundays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Boat class: Laser/ILCA (single-handed dinghy)
Course Fees (all inclusive):

Course Description:
This nine-day sailing course is designed for teenagers and adults who want to learn to sail or further develop their sailing skills. It is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have completed basic training.
Sailing Laser/ILCA dinghies, participants will progress beyond the basics and, when ready, take on more advanced skills such as gybing, sailing a course, and learning the rules of sailing. Buoyancy vests are provided, though sailors should be confident in the water.
Recommended minimum age: 14 years.
The ILCA 4 / Laser 4.7 is designed for sailors over 50 kg, though this may vary depending on individual circumstances. Please contact us to discuss what may work best for you.

This course combines Start Sailing 1 and 2 together.

Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.
Course Outcome
You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate.
We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
