Schedule: 9 sessions, Sundays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Course Fees (all inclusive):

  • MYC Full & Junior Members: $120
  • New Participants (includes complimentary Sail Training Membership, please sign on for this first when enrolling in the course):
    • Adult: $350
    • Junior (<19): $200

Course Description:
This nine-day sailing course is designed for adults and children who want to learn to sail or further develop their sailing skills. It is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have completed basic training.

Sailing Mirror dinghies, participants will progress beyond the basics and, when ready, take on more advanced skills such as gybing, sailing a triangular course, and learning the rules of sailing. Buoyancy vests are provided, though sailors should be confident in the water.

Recommended Minimum Age: 10 years.
Children under 10 are welcome. If they’re new to sailing, we ask that a parent or guardian accompanies them. Contact us to discuss what works best.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate. 

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here
