Discover the fun of sailing and build confidence on a Mirror dinghy

Limited places available (6–12 participants)

9 sesions on Sundays from 9am to 12pm

Course Fees (all inclusive):

  • MYC 25-26 Season Members: $120
  • Non-Members (please sign up as a Learn to Sail Participant when registering to the course):
    • Adult: $350
    • Student (<25 or full-time student): $240
    • Junior (<18): $200

Course Description:
This nine-day sailing course is designed for adults and children who want to learn to sail or further develop their sailing skills. It is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have completed basic training.

Sailing Mirror dinghies, participants will progress beyond the basics and, when ready, take on more advanced skills such as gybing, sailing a triangular course, and learning the rules of sailing. Buoyancy vests are provided, though sailors should be confident in the water.

Recommended Minimum Age: 10 years.
Children under 10 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the course.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate. 

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here
